Ready for Spring

Although the weather is still quite nippy here, I finished knitting 2 spring/summer sweaters!

Both of these are made from Rowan yarns and from the Rowan Beach Cool booklet which is now on for special at the
Rowan website. Both yarns knit up using 6.0-7.0mm needles so they were fast knits!

The first one is my own concoction of
Sadie and Kelly plus my own random additions using Linen Print. I picked up this yarn from the Knitomatic sale for $2 per skein!! I used 5 1/2 skeins. Shelly, if you are reading this, I still have 2 1/2 skeins left over. BEWARE! This yarn (this colorway) bleeds! My bathtub was bleeding overnight... :(

It's a little bit low in the front but I'm too lazy to fit it now. Might be easier to pair it with a nice lacy camisole.
The second sweater is Cannes, which uses 2 yarns - Cotton Braid and a Cotton Glace. I didn't have any Cotton Glace, so I replaced it with DK Handknit Cotton, a Rowan membership gift. The Cotton Braid was one of my "souvenir" purchases from London last Fall. I find the fit a little bit loose, and while I considered to stick it into the wash, hoping to shrink it a bit, I decided against it. I might consider stitching a few side stitches together to get rid of the extra room.

Gosh! I just re-read my post and it sounds like a Rowan ad! But in the meantime... I just started another Rowan project... go figure!

Stashbusting Meter:
5 1/2 skeins of Rowan Linen Print (shade 347)
2 skeins of Rowan Handknit Cotton
4 skeins of Rowan Cotton Braid

Fast knits are motivating! The red one is sexy ... maybe too much for me! My husband wouldn't be too encouraging to me to wear that outside of the house ... hahaha ... but it looks so good on you!

Lovely tops! It's nice to be ahead of season. I often finish my knits by the end of the season.

Both are gorgeous! I think a lace cami with the first top would look absolutely it! Cannes is one of my projects I nvr got around too LOL It looks good on you. How bout a belt around the waist to give it a 60s looks?

The shirt with the Linen Print looks beautiful - as much as I love my wrap, I would actually consider ripping the lot out to make that pattern. It looks stunning on you.

A lot of the patterns in the Beach Cool book look great, I wish I didn't have so little patience with large amounts of knitting!

Last point: What would you like in return for the Linen Print? Cash or a stash addition? Thank you again!
