It's Just Not Meant To Be...

Wow, all the new Fall magazines are popping up lately... Interweave Knits, Family Circle Easy Knitting , Knitty... Usually, the first sign of Fall fashions get me all giddy & geared up for a buying spree, yet... nothing in these magazines really excite me. I do like the chunky mitts on the cover of FCEK, but everything else inside is kind of bleh. Hopefully, the Knitty surprises will not disappoint and I am looking forward to Vogue Knitting next month. *fingers crossed*

In the meantime, I have finished the cotton tank top with the "sweet" straps. Yeah, I do admit the straps are kinda sweet, hee hee. What do you think? Overall the project was quite enjoyable... I love the cable ribbing, but I find cotton (while better for my allergies - no wooley bits to promote sneeze attacks) very hard on my hands. My mom suggests I wear a mask while working with wool. We still have a box of masks left over from the SARS outbreak. @_@

I will be moving to Toronto next week. Since I'll be living out of a suitcase for a few months, I'm desperately trying to "priortize" my yarn stash. What shall I bring to T.O.? It's a big dilemma *sigh*. I'll stop being so selfish with knitting things just for myself - I'll bring over some socks yarn to start on Christmas presents. At least the 50g balls are small. *smile*

In the meantime, bad bad news about the flower basket shawl. I finally reunited the half-finished project (which I hand-carried from HK) with the extra balls of yarn (shipped via container) and guess what? I can't find the pattern! ARGHHGHHHHH!!! I'm sure I packed it SOMEWHERE... I suspect FBS and me are just not destined. It could've been true love and it's just not happenin'!

Congratulations!

The top's pretty and I do agree that socks are portable enough to bring everywhere with you.

Cables are so satisfying. The straps are sweet! Well done.

Toronto is not so bad. It is just a matter of time for me and my clan.

That is a-friggin-dorable.. Yes it is : )

I'm tempted to make one.. and you already made it in blue (I mostly knit in blue.. especially for myself) so it looks even more tempting to me!

Very cute : )
