Presenting Mr. Teddy

Before I left Hong Kong, I had promised to make my colleague's soon-to-be-born baby a present. Rather than knitting clothes, (this is her second baby, I knitted baby #1 a vest some years ago), I hereby present Mr. Teddy. Luckily, the baby is due in a month, so there's still lots of time (he's in the mail, poor thing). From Last Minute Knitted Gifts, isn't he just the cutest bear bear ever? There are also patterns for a bunny rabbit and an elephant which I'm eager to work on too. I added some underwear for him as not having enough yarn is always an issue for me. He's so cute I almost want to keep him for myself. :P

I think Mr. Teddy looks cuter naked. However, that probably being not too healthy of a thing to teach a baby, I also made him some overalls.

On my yarn hunt, I found a local yarn shop. They stock everything from Noro to Rowan and it's just a 15 minute drive from my home! Yay! After seeing Siow Chin's socks at our meet-up, I bought some socks yarn to give it a shot. Gosh, it's very delicate yarn. Also found some Jaeger Trinity in the sale bin. How could I resist?

That's one lucky kid to get a teddy bear with a wardrobe.
Small knitting projects are satisfying.
