Before I left Hong Kong, I had promised to make my colleague's soon-to-be-born baby a present. Rather than knitting clothes, (this is her second baby, I knitted baby #1 a vest some years ago), I hereby present Mr. Teddy. Luckily, the baby is due in a month, so there's still lots of time (he's in the mail, poor thing). From Last Minute Knitted Gifts, isn't he just the cutest bear bear ever? There are also patterns for a bunny rabbit and an elephant which I'm eager to work on too. I added some underwear for him as not having enough yarn is always an issue for me. He's so cute I almost want to keep him for myself. :P I think Mr. Teddy looks cuter naked. However, that probably being not too healthy of a thing to teach a baby, I also made him some overalls.
On my yarn hunt, I found a local yarn shop. They stock everything from Noro to Rowan and it's just a 15 minute drive from my home! Yay! After seeing Siow Chin's socks at our meet-up, I bought some socks yarn to give it a shot. Gosh, it's very delicate yarn. Also found some Jaeger Trinity in the sale bin. How could I resist?

Mr T is a cutie in his overalls.
Such a cute Mr. Teddy! I liked it with the underwear, great idea. But with the overalls is even cuter!
Hello Mr. Teddy! Peggy, the idea for the underwear and the overalls is brilliant! So cute!

OMG ... he's really cute! Love the idea of underwear to make up for not enough yarn! Clever!
I agree with you...Mr Teddy looks better naked
Cute teddy! The next thing you know, you'll want to start knitting clothes for the bear :P
(Dun ask me how I know)
That's one lucky kid to get a teddy bear with a wardrobe.
Small knitting projects are satisfying.
What a lovely gift!
