My First Blankie

My first blankie - done! It wasn't that hard because I cheated - doubled up the yarn and knitted it up on 8mm needles. heee hee. I first saw this pattern in the Family Circle Knitting Afghans Book but since the book is in a container somewhere in the Pacific Ocean, I winged it. 35 stitches across 38 rows X 5 alternating colors X 3 panels. It was the perfect project for sitting in front of the TV. I'm quite happy with it as there's minimal yarn wastage, just 1 little ball of each color left over. Since my mom bought this yarn, the blanket will be for her when she gets chilly feet while watching TV. Yeah, we love our TV, esp with all those CSI reruns. Gosh, it's on EVERY night on at least 1 channel!
I've recieved lots of interest on the food book. The book itself it not a patterns book, there are only patterns to make 2 sushi, 1 lemon slice?, 1 strawberry and 2 cookies. However, the pictures are amazing. If you are still interested, the book is called "Food Knit" with code number ISBN4-88591-800-6 C2072.

With the blankie done, I will work on some small projects. There's so much yarn leftovers in the yarn stash, I just have to use it all up!!!

I love blankies! And yours is lovely. I'm yearning to make another but my first took me close to 2 years to finish!

lovely blankie... well done for winging it. Nothing wrong with that, the colours look great together.

Thanks for taking the time to pass the ISBN # of the food book! I'll see if I can find it...
Really nice brankie! Sure it will warm up your mom.
Wow, haven't received your container yet! I am always happy to see my belongings again but there is a downside to sort them out!
