Stashbusting in 2007

Following my previous post, Wendy Knits has started a fabulous stash-busting venture to reinforce my stash-slashing resolution.

It's great!

However, I made some modifications:

1. The Knit-From-Your-Stash-a-Thon will start January 1, 2007 and run through September 30, 2007 -- a period of nine months. [I will try to last through the entire year]

2. I will not buy any yarn during that period, with the following exceptions:

2.a. Sock yarn does not count. [I will not buy any sock yarn in 2007]

2.b. If someone asks for a specific knitted gift that we really and truly do not have the yarn for, we may buy yarn to knit that gift. [I will not buy any yarn in 2007, even for gifts]

2.c. If we are knitting something and run out of yarn, we may purchase enough to complete the project. [Why, of course!!]

2.d. We each get one "Get Out of Jail Free" card -- we are each allowed to fall off the wagon one time. [I will not buy any yarn in 2007]

3. We are allowed to receive gifts of yarn. [YAY!!]

4. Trading stash is allowed. [YAY!!]

Will-power!!!!

Seriously, all I think about it which yarn to buy next and which shop is having sale. I'll be cheering for you though, you might be my inspiration for next year ;)

Good luck with it Peggy!

By the way, I finally finished that crochet blanket a few weeks ago, I'll post pictures in the next day or so..but I need to snap those pictures first. You'll be happy to hear I've decided to name it "Peggy", since it was the project I worked on at my first SNB, and you were the first SNB member to chat me up.

Good luck to you too... as for me, I've about US$80 in paypal from a recent destash sale... and this bit of wiggle room helps me keep my sanity knowing I can get something new if I'm really really really desperate, without breaking the rules! ;o)
