Ta-da! Regardez Mon Boob Tube!

First of all, thanks for all the thoughtful emails and messages. I'm feeling much better now - the flu bug has been overtaken!!

Here's the launch of the summer boob-tube. It looked fine lying on my bed but what's the fit like?

...*drum roll*....

I'm proud!!! This is the second time knitting in cotton. It's not too bad... The lack of wooley flyaways is better for my allergies. I wish I had discovered cotton earlier. All those humid summers spent in HK seems to have passed in vain!! It's been a really long time since I've knitted so much. All the action in end 2004-2005 has been much much more than what I've knitted in my other HK years combined. This is easy to understand as the city never sleeps - there is always something more interesting to do and somewhere more interesting to be. Plus, the weather here isn't exactly one where you'd enjoy carrying around a ball of yarn. Just the first week of May and it's already 30 degrees!

In the end, I bought a metal crochet hook replacement. This one couldn't possibly be breakable, could it? Plus, metal hooks are less likely to get stuck. While on my shopping spree, I saw a boxed set of double edged crochet hooks in 8 different sizes retailing for $95. Being a self-taught knitter, I am really having difficulties self-teaching myself to crochet. The single-double-treble chains are confusing! Nevertheless, that beautiful set seemed to be smiling at me. Must be my compulsive behavior to collect and acquire things in sets (even if I currently have no use for them)... I really am tempted. I must go to that yarn shop. Those hooks are mine, mine, MINE! Many trinkets in the LYS - Japanese yarn winder, fancy knitting needle sets, and all these other creative "tools" created to make knitting easier. It's a sinful place...

Great top! Not too many people can wear that but you pull it off just swell. :) So, where is this LYS that carries the crochet hook set?

Good job! I agree with Joy ... you wear it well.
If you want to learn to crochet, you can see if you can find a book called "Crochet School". I checked it out here in my local library and there are good picutres teaching you all the stitches. I am also learning by myself and working on a crochet sampler afghan. It is fun!

It's sooo.... cute!!! I agree with the others, you look good in it. If it's me wearing it, then I'll look like a hippo ;p

Cute tube! I learnt crochet from Japanese mags where they show how to execute the stitches in pictorial form. Of course now I'm bad at following crochet instructions written in English, can only follow if they're in chart form.

Peggy, you really look great in this topless tube. I agree with others that not everyone can wear it,like myself!:(
I have found that the new Clover crochet hooks with a larger plastic handle works really well. Have you seem it?
