I bought half a meter of the striped fabric and sewed it to the vest. Then, I attached a thick elastic on top and topstitched it to the vest/skirt.The elastic prevents the need for a zipper and the skirt is a little poofy.

Really pretty! I love this. I have a lot of tired black vests and tops and I've been dying to sew something like this for myself :)
