Lady Peggy

You may now call me Lady Peggy.

This was a LONG knit. I started it back in March, was initially intrigued by the entrelac technique, became bored of the constant turning and knitting, tossed it aside and then grew fond of it again when I needed something easy for SnB-ing (knitting + talking).

I didn't use the suggested yarn, instead I used Noro Silk Garden, which I bought during my yarn binge last year when I discovered Internet yarn deals. NSG was overstock at WEBS and on sale for US$6.79 per skein. At those prices, who could resist? I am ecstatic that the colors I saw online translated well into this pattern.

I followed the pattern most of the time, but completed 43 tiers. For the fringe, I shortened them a bit (using 60cm strands instead of 100cm) and added a few so they were divisible by the triangles. I think this fits petite me better. Otherwise, Lady Peggy would be swallowed up by her wrap!

I am looking forward to using it during the cooler months. In the meantime, where's my prince?

Oh, Peggy, That's gorgeous!
Are you bringing it on Wednesday/next Monday to show off? We've seen it in progress, but would love to see it in its finished state.

I have yet to do one of these on my own, but I so wish that I have, it's just so gorgeous but I've never done entrelac, so I'm afraid of using something I like a lot for a pattern that I really like and yarn that is fantastic.

This is really beautiful. I've been working on a version out of Manos since November and am about 3/4 done. After seeing yours, I'm inspired to finish it up. And I hear you about the turning - it's all about learning to knit backwards!
